When disposing of an old toilet you need to make sure safety is your number one priority. First and foremost toilets are heavy. Make sure if you need to carry an old toilet out of a home or business that you do so with assistance. Before transporting an old toilet make sure you have removed all of the water from the tank. You can do this by using a sponge and a bucket, a turkey baster or a handheld siphon/pump. You should also have contacted your local municipality or private trash removal company to determine who will tank the old toilet once you remove it. In some areas either the local government or a non-profit will recycle it. Do not break the toilet to try to dispose of it in smaller pieces. Chinaware is extremely dangerous when broken as the pieces are razor sharp. Please safely dispose of your toilet through proper channels to avoid contamination or injury to others.
