American Standard Receives Plumbing Efficiency Research Coalition Recognition

American Standard Brands was recently recognized for its contributions to the Drainline Transport Study by the Plumbing Efficiency Research Coalition (PERC). The Company was acknowledged for volunteering its research and development facility and staff in Piscataway, NJ to assist PERC in performing tests to better understand drainline function under the lower flow conditions of high efficiency toilets that use only 1.28 gallons of water per flush.  Accepting the award was Jim McHale, Ph.D., American Standard vice president of research, development and engineering, pictured on the right. PERC board member Pete DeMarco is pictured on the left. PERC is a collaborative network of these five leading organizations with the goal of advancing plumbing research initiatives pertaining to water efficiency: the Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE), the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), the International Code Council (ICC), the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors − National Association (PHCC), the Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI) and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).
