Leak-Proof Tile Redi Shower Bases Dramatically Simplify Installation

(July 18, 2013) – Contractor installation of full tile showers can be fast, easy, and virtually foolproof with the new line of patented Tile Redi shower bases, now available from American Standard. This collection of tileable shower base pans can be installed and tiled the same day to save time, money, and practically eliminate the need for construction delays.

The pre-pitched shower bases are uncomplicated to install, and tile or stone can be applied directly to the base surface. These preformed shower pans for tile provide savings on labor costs, as no mud setting or hot mopping is necessary. Plus, these tileable shower pans also include an integrated 2-inch PVC drain, an adjustable stainless steel drain plate, and tile setting materials.

The three styles of tile shower pans available from American Standard are:

• Redi Base, a one-piece Ready-to-Tile shower pan with a round drain cover
• Redi Free, a one-piece Ready-to-Tile shower base with a barrier free entrance
• Redi Trench, a one-piece Ready-to-Tile shower base with an integrated trench and drain that offers a choice of a designer drain cover or tileable top for a hidden drain.

Available in a wide variety of curb options and drain configurations, this new offering of tile shower bases makes it easy to customize a shower to almost any specifications. Curb options include single curb, double curb, triple curb, and barrier free.

The Redi Base drain cover is available in a variety of shapes and finishes to suit any décor. Three designer finish options include chrome, satin nickel, and oil-rubbed bronze. A round cover is standard, but square drain covers are available as an upgrade.

Optional add-ons include a RediBench for comfort and safety while showering, recessed and corner ledges for conveniently storing personal items in the shower, and extra tile setting material to insure ample supplies for successful installation.
