LIXIL Americas Executive Named as Finalist for General Counsel of the Year

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 1, 2018) - Brian Osias, vice president and associate general counsel, LIXIL Americas, a division of LIXIL Corporation, has been named a finalist in the 2018 NJBIZ General Counsel of the Year Awards program. The award honors New Jersey’s standout General Counsels, Chief Legal Officers and corporate compliance professionals for the critical role they play in making their companies successful.

As vice president and associate general counsel, Osias reports to Bruce Proctor, LIXIL Americas Chief Legal Officer. He has primary commercial legal responsibility for LIXIL Americas subsidiary entities in the U.S. and Canada and leads LIXIL Americas litigation efforts. Additional responsibilities include support on labor and employment, human resources, compliance, as well as governance, regulatory, risk management and sustainability matters. 

Before joining the Company, Osias was a litigation partner in private practice, representing General Electric, Novartis, Colgate-Palmolive, Mars, and LIXIL among other clients. Osias has received various awards and distinctions throughout his career, such as New Jersey Law Journal’s 2012 “New Leader of the Bar” and a 2009 NJBIZ “40 Under 40” award winner. Osias earned a bachelor’s degree with high honors from Rutgers University and his J.D. with honors from Rutgers University School of Law. “Brian has been a wonderful addition to the LIXIL team,” Proctor said. “He displays tremendous commercial acumen, which he combines with stellar legal abilities, to achieve uniformly excellent results. We’re very proud of this acknowledgment of his contribution to LIXIL”.

A panel of independent judges evaluates nominees in six categories allocating points for career success, organizational contributions, recent legal victories and professional and community service.
