Revolutionary ActiClean Toilet from American Standard Recognized as 2017 R&D 100 Award Finalist

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 20, 2017) ― American Standard, part of LIXIL, proudly announces that its ActiClean self-cleaning toilet has been named a 2017 R&D 100 Award finalist in the Process and Prototyping category. This year’s R&D 100 Award winners were announced on November 17, 2017 at a black-tie awards dinner at the Walt Disney World Swan Resort in Orlando, Florida. 

The ActiClean system is the toilet that cleans itself, combining the power of revolutionary VorMax flushing technology — which delivers the cleanest flush ever engineered — with a fully integrated, user-activated self-cleaning system. The user simply presses a button, walks away, and the ActiClean system will scour the bowl with cleaning fluid, then soak and rinse for a sparkling clean bowl.

The ActiClean self-cleaning toilet has also been recognized with a Gold 2017 A’ Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware category, a Gold 2017 American Business Award in the Consumer Products category, and a 2016 GREEN GOOD DESIGN Award in the Green Products category for its forward-thinking innovation and sustainability.
